People Crave Media and memes and news and games…
While switching cellphone carriers, from that one Which Seems So Very Much Like Extortion to that one Which Promises To Have Better Business Practices, we were asked about our business name: “hey, what’s a People Crave?”
People Crave Media, Inc. was established in 2012, conceived from the simple fact that all of us on the planet consume media—sometimes to extremely unhealthy levels; no finger pointing; you know who you are—in the course of everyday life. Our firm specializes in the production of consumable media whether in the form of digital communication platforms (Interactive Media) or printed entertainment and educational materials (Print Media); however, you can learn more about each discipline in their respective sections.
And, on the topic of communication, the legal team wanted us to stress the following point: People Crave Media is structured as a corporation in the state of Pennsylvania. Within this website, you’ll find many references to the words we and our and us, which are representative of the aforementioned legal entity.
While our company is setup as a corporation, one guy—Brian J. Krummel—is the primary magician on the premises. All of the work found within the website was completed by Brian, in collaboration with other professional teams of amazing people. So when you hear references to the words I and me and mine, those are representative of his connection to People Crave Media and the work that he has produced over twenty-five years in the industry.
Magician on the Premises
Abracadabra, alakazam, hocus pocus, and all of the remaining magical words of the universe. I have been enamored with media since childhood: whether that be a fascination with video games, printed words, musical arrangements, or the rich history of bad (yet, so good!) Science-fiction B-movies throughout the last fifty years. I believe that all media is magical, in a sense, conveying the consumer on an emotional journey. The means to an end (whether entertainment or educational or consumerism) can adopt and assume many different forms—personally speaking, I think that is a fascinating prospect—and I have dedicated my life to various careers within the visual arts, communications, and marketing fields.
Over the last twenty-years: I’ve been a follower and a leader, an apprentice and a teacher, a visual artist and a computer science geek; I’ve worn the metaphorical hats of designer, developer, photographer, writer, and business owner; I’ve collaborated on a myriad of prints and interactive projects with artists, entrepreneurs, graphic designers, educational institutions, and (quite literally) everyone else in between. The conglomeration of these experiences forms the essence of People Crave Media, reflecting my own journey.
My name is Brian J. Krummel and I’m the owner of People Crave Media. This is my own personal story, but there’s always a backstory…

Mom, I Want To Be An Artist
In 1996, I completed my college education from Pennsylvania State University and earned a B.A. of Arts in Art with a concentration in photography. In the years that followed, I found that the Business of Photography was much less exciting and satisfying than the Art of Photography. Careers such as photographic retail sales, Olan Mills store manager (wow, could I tell you some stories!), wedding photographer, and professional film lab worker, all left much to be desired on a recurring, daily basis. I needed to discover something more, although I didn’t know what that looked like in my own life quite yet.
A Long, Winding Road To Donutsville
As the millennium rolled over, I found myself exploring the medium of digital media by securing entry-level web designer and developer positions which not only paid the mortgage and placed food on the table, but offered a whole realm of career possibilities. One full-time job (and increased exposure to the web industry) led to a formative position at an advertising agency. While no longer in business, Bozell Kamstra gave me the experience of working on national brand campaigns as well as the introductions and professional connections within my own city that I would need for the next leap in my career.
By 2001, I had experienced a perfect storm set of circumstances where I could afford to take a chance (otherwise known as healthy dose of risk) and start my first business: Iziks Interactive, Inc. The focus of that initial company was solely on producing interactive websites. With little to lose (personally and professionally), I transitioned to working on my own business in a full-time capacity. Additionally, there was a sliver of years squeezed in the same timeline where I started a medical business which crashed and burned in the most glorious fashion; but that’s a story for another day. There is more to say on the lifespan of Iziks, however, in its twelve-year run, it became more obvious with each passing year that my business needed to become something different.
In 2012, I simultaneously closed the studio doors on Iziks Interactive, Inc. and established a new entity called People Crave Media, Inc. Yes, there’s always more to the story, but that is the stripped-down history. With the emergence of social media, mobile applications and games, and numerous new ways for consumers to (well, pun intended) consume, People Crave Media was established to meet those new social needs. For years, we had an awesome office, full of fresh coffee and bright young minds, rockin’ Spotify playlists and impromptu guitar jam sessions, perched directly above the infamously delicious Bethel Bakery (out of this world donuts!) in my local neighborhood.
Connecting Dots From There To Here
From a personal standpoint, my career changed coursed once more in 2016, when I started the search for more something more. Obviously, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, however, life rarely takes you on most efficient path or trajectory. With a growing family of three young soon-to-be-adults, I needed to prepare for my parental college years. And so I secured employment with the University of Pittsburgh, as a web developer, defining a viable path through the forest of academia. For many years, I ran parallel interactive careers—full-time Mon-Fri professional coder and part-time Sat-Sun freelance coder—until my full-time paycheck caught up to my household’s financial needs.
For nearly a decade, nestled within my College-bound Children Era, I have enjoyed the corporate setting of academia. I have collaborated with many talented, unique, and interesting professionals; traveled across the country for business meetings and professional conferences; expanded my skill sets with new tools, software, and communication strategies. The need for interactive solutions remains, although the means to meeting those communication challenges continuously evolves. From an artistic standpoint, I have used this time in my career to work on personal projects such as writing, designing, and publishing books; or, working through photographic ideas and portfolios for my own exploration in the creative arts. As artists, I don’t think that we ever reach a point of finality or completion.
But the underlying current of my entire career is a deep fascination with the arts and the many forms of communication that are available to the human race. Whether that be in the form of visual media arts, the many genres of music, or the next big blockbuster hit of the summer, the following fact will remain true: People Crave Media. And memes and news and games! I will continue to explore a career that focuses on the multiple methods of communication, regardless of the shape or form of that occupation; that’s just what I do!

Twenty-five-plus Years of Mike Drops
Over the last two decades, we have worked with many corporations and creative individuals. We are the secret sauce, the secret weapon, the advantage behind each of our business-to-business clients. Sometimes, we serve as a silent partner to another creative firm, providing specialized services to match their client demands; sometimes, we serve as lead and point on a project to meet the needs of an organization directly; sometimes, we function as an employee cog in the corporation machinery. In any instance, our goals remain the same: to make your business look stellar, while meeting your needs for creative solutions to complex communication challenges.
2012-2025
For all future clients and interested parties, we extend an offer for you to invite us into your business and let us help grow your client base, increase efficiency, or enhance your corporate image. Our genuine interest is to provide services that will make your life easier. If you’re ready to meet an enthusiastic company, that’s full of creative ideas and gusto, why not add your company and your success story to our list?
